Represent Canterbury on the Court
Every year, some of Badminton Canterbury’s top players are selected to represent our region at both Mainland (South Island) and National level competitions. In badminton our representitive play is by teams at Inter-Provincial and National tournaments. Canterbury has a proud history spanning many years at these events. Teams are made up of Men and Women, and the structure of each team will vary a bit for the different events.
We offer representative team opportunities across a range of age groups, your age is as at 31st December:
- Juniors (under 19) – broken down into Under 13, 15, 17, and 19 age groups
- Adults (seniors) – masters players and some juniors are also eligible in this group
- Masters (35+) – Masters are all those who are 35+, Vets 50+, and Super Vets 60+ (vets and super vets are eligible for Masters events)
If you’re keen to wear the Canterbury colours, start by reading through all the relevant information and selection criteria in the Senior or Junior Player Handbooks at the right. Once you’re ready, register your interest through your player login to stay up to date with trial dates, training sessions, and team updates. Please note: registering your interest does not guarantee selection in a team.
