To everyone in our Badminton Community,
With the current lockdown in place, all Badminton Canterbury activities are currently suspended. This includes:
- Shuttletime
- squad trainings
- social grade
- interclub (round will be rescheduled)
- Canterbury 13/17 Champs and Secondary Schools event: postponed at this stage, with a date to be advised. Further information will be sent to all entrants and schools.
It’s important that we keep everyone safe, and keeping this virus contained is our best chance of getting back on court soon. We are unable to run any of these events at alert levels 3 or 4, and events need to be managed at level 2. For this reason, we think it’s best to give people certainty, and postpone events until we are at least at level 2.
Please keep up to date with us via our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/canterburybadminton or our website.
Note that under alert levels 3 or 4 we are unable to open the hall at 220 Pages Road for court use. If you had any bookings for this time, we will credit them back to you at the end of lockdown (it’s easier for us to do in one go, so we will wait to see how long lockdown lasts for).
Our emails are being monitored remotely over this time, and we are available to chat through Facebook. We will have a further update out later this week once we have a better idea on how long the lockdown will last for.For reference we take advice from both Badminton NZ and Sport NZ. The Sport NZ guidelines are available: https://sportnz.org.nz/covid-19-response/alert-level-information/
Keep healthy and see you soon!
