SENIOR TEAMS 2017

Senior Teams 2017:

We are looking for an expression of interest from all players interested in playing for one of our Canterbury Senior teams this year.

Div 1 tie: 18-22 July at Waitakere
Div 3 ties are: 11th June as an away (Dunedin or Picton) and 23rd July here in Christchurch
Neil Cup tie is still to be confirmed and will be made up from players of the larger Senior Squad.

Due to further tightening of funding that is available, all players will need to be prepared to fund themselves in case we are unsuccessful in applying for funding. We would also anticipate that people in the teams are willing to assist their team with some form of fundraising. We will be asking for a small deposit from all players prior to travel.
Once selected for the team, you are making a commitment to represent your province. You will need to attend regular training sessions, dates and times of this will be confirmed when Jamie (our new coach) has settled in.

Any player wanting to play for any of the senior teams must notify the Senior Convenor by FRIDAY 10TH MARCH 2017 if they wish to be considered.

Selections will be based on last years playing history, training attendance, performance at the St Paddy’s Day Tournament, and may be a small trial held the following week if required.
A senior squad will be announced after the St Paddy’s Day Tournament, which will consist of more players than are required for each tie. The actual playing teams will be named by Friday 21st April, and this will be done by the Coach in conjunction with the Senior Selectors. This should allow time for people to save, ask for time off work etc 
